I love charcuterie as much as the next person, but when I have a crowd of guests arriving, the last thing I want to be doing is refilling the serving board. This large, striking board is made from a bookmatched pair of walnut slabs with the prized “rat tail” figure that happens in the crotch between two limbs. Its form is inspired by traditional Japanese sushi boards that are in turn inspired by the sandal called geta. At more than two feet in diameter, you’ll need some hungry guests to clear it.
